True Beauty Series Review

After 16 episodes, it's time to say goodbye to True Beauty. It was a fun ride, but I have a bone to pick with the ending that leaves me wondering why we just can't have nice things.

Thoughts of the Week

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday this paat week (Canada Day on the 1st and [US] Independence Day I  the 4th). I've been on vacation and only had the chance to watch two dramas: Gu Family Book finale and You're the Best Lee Soon Shin episodes 33 & 34. LUCKY ME.

Gaksital Series Review

Oh. Em. Gee.

28 episodes of awesomeness has come to a close and what a ride! I kinda didn't expect Gaksital/Bridal Mask to end this way (that's a good thing!) and the drama kept me on my toes until the very end. Not only that, but they were able to wrap up everyone's story lines appropriately without leaving any of our players out of the game.

WTF Fashion King?!

The train wreck that was Fashion King has ended, and it appropriately did so in a giant ball of flame. Nothing made sense, plots were tied together sloppily (if tied together at all), and 20 hours of my life that I'll never get back have fizzled into nothingness.

I would do my typical Series Finale write up, but what's the point? This series sucked so bad that it's not even worth it. I had so many comments about the drama that I'm sure will take up several libraries, but let's face it, Fashion King is hardly worth any keystrokes.

The Moon That Embraces the Sun Series Finale

OMG, there is so much I can say about the ending of The Moon That Embraces the Sun. I was on an emotional roller-coaster, going from sadness to WTF to everything in between, all within 60 minutes.

The end of episode 19 had my heart pulling in all directions! With the two brothers standing back-to-back as the rebels ran in broke my heart! It's just how they should be; standing together, watching each other's back, as Hwon adores his hyungnim and Yang-Myung always looks out for him. But back to reality, there's that whole high-treason thing that makes it so sad. I just keep hoping that Yang will be like, "just kidding!!!" and everything will be okay.

Bachelor's Vegetable Store Series Finale

The final episode of Bachelor's Vegetable Store aired this week, and it was highly anticipated (by me, at least).

Bachelor's Vegetable Store Promo Poster

I was especially drawn to this drama because of the concept of Tae-Yang starting his vegetable business from the ground up (starting from when he was a middle school kid who loved veggies) to a nation-wide chain. Even more interesting that it was loosely based on a real life story.

So Tae-Yang starts his roadside veggie truck, loses it, gets it back, loses it, gets it back, opens veggie store, almost loses it, loses it for real, fights to get it back, restarts veggie truck, and THEN... it ends? what the heck just happened?
